Dr. Molly Tatum among first in Ohio to offer new treatment to ACL tears

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Molly Tatum is among the first in Ohio to help patients heal their own anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears using the BEAR Implant, which acts as a bridge between torn ends of the ACL, enabling the body to heal on its own.

“Any time we can restore a patient’s native tissue back to how it was prior to injury, it can restore their normal joint mechanics. So, if we give the ACL an environment to repair and heal itself, we expect to see better outcomes long term,” said Tatum, a surgeon at Kettering Health.
