Frank Mannarino, MD, is a skilled orthopedic surgeon with special interest in knee and shoulder surgery and the care of athletic injuries. He serves the communities of Dayton and Tipp City, Ohio, at Orthopaedic Institute of Dayton.

As a specialist in the orthopedic management of athletic injuries and knee and shoulder surgery, Dr. Mannarino has received specialized training in arthroscopic surgery as well as the more complex ligamentous surgeries around the knee. He has been in practice for twenty-five years and has gained tremendous experience with the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of athletic injuries to the knee and shoulder. This is evidenced by the fact that he has done 4,000 reconstructions of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee, that being the most common of the more serious athletic knee injury and surgery.

Dr. Mannarino is a native of West Paterson, New Jersey. He graduated from Dartmouth College, where he was an All-American baseball player. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in 1976. He served his internship and orthopedic residency at the Michigan State University Affiliated Blodgett and Butterworth Hospitals, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and received a fellowship in sports medicine with Dr. Douglas Jackson in Long Beach, California.

Dr. Mannarino is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, a national group of Orthopaedic Surgeons who center their attention on the care and prevention of athletic injuries. He is also a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, which specializes in the advancement of arthroscopic surgical techniques.

In addition to working with the team at Orthopaedic Institute of Dayton, Dr. Mannarino is the Orthopaedic Medical Director of Kettering Sports Medicine Center. He is on the staff of Kettering and Sycamore Hospitals, as well as the Greater Dayton Surgery Center.
